Adimec Unveils High-Resolution S-65A35 Camera for PCB Inspection at Vision 2018
At the upcoming Vision 2018 trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany, from November 6th to 8th, camera manufacturer Adimec will introduce the technical specifications of its new S-65A35 model—a cutting-edge industrial imaging solution designed for advanced PCB inspection applications. The company’s product demonstrator featuring this innovative Gpixel sensor will be showcased at booth #1J32 in the GPixel section.
This 65-megapixel resolution, CMOS-based camera with a global shutter operates at an impressive 35 frames per second using the CoaXPress interface. Its rectangular image dimensions of 9344×7000 pixels deliver exceptional clarity and precision for real-time metrology tasks in machine vision systems.
As semiconductor lithography features and PCB defect sizes continue shrinking, higher resolution has become critical for effective inspection tools. The S-65A35 addresses this challenge with its compact pixel size of 3.2 microns—offering significantly increased pixel density per unit area compared to previous models. This results in substantial improvements across multiple performance metrics: dramatically enhanced resolution capability; greatly reduced noise levels (2 e-); improved quantum efficiency providing greater sensitivity; and an expanded dynamic range reaching up to 70 dB.
The camera’s full well capacity stands at 12.5 Ke-, paired with extremely low readout noise characteristics that ensure high-quality imagery under various lighting conditions. Additional optical enhancements include defect pixel correction features designed for superior image uniformity across units.
Designed specifically for manufacturing environments requiring consistent performance, the S-65A35 maintains repeatable image quality camera-to-camera through precision sensor alignment and advanced thermal management systems mitigating downtime during continuous operation (24/7). This focus on reliability significantly reduces total cost of ownership while minimizing system integration challenges when transitioning from previous Adimec models like the S-25.
Adimec engineers will be available at booth #1G68 throughout Vision 2018 in Stuttgart to discuss vision application requirements and demonstrate how this new technology can optimize your inspection processes.
