Fast hyperspectral imaging camera demonstration with real-time spectral analysis and discrimination capabilities
Click the image below to view a video demonstration by IMEC featuring their hyperspectral imaging camera. This device operates at fast frame rates and captures spectral signatures from different types of leaf objects—paper printed leaves, plastic leaves, tissue paper leaves, and real leaves—across 32 distinct spectral bands simultaneously. At 60 data-cubes per second, the system performs real-time analysis using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) discrimination algorithms.
This showcases the powerful capabilities of hyperspectral imaging technology—an emerging vision technique gaining momentum across various applications such as remote sensing, industrial sorting, and medical imaging.
IMEC partnered with Adimec for this project because they specialize in application-specific cameras rather than general-purpose models. As a result, IMEC developed solutions optimized for diverse use cases.
