Adimec Announces Volume Production of Q-12A65 CMOS Camera
This week marked the completion of extensive qualification testing for the newest member of the CMOS-based QUARTZ series, the Q-12A65, which is now entering high-volume production. Designed to meet evolving industry demands, this camera has been integrated into several instruments and made commercially available to help equipment manufacturers achieve significant improvements in accuracy and throughput.
Key Specifications
The Q-12A65 leverages the CMOSIS CMV12000 image sensor, a 12-megapixel global shutter camera capable of capturing 4096 x 3072 pixel images at 66 frames per second (fps). It supports various Camera Link interface formats, ranging from base (2-Tap) to Deca (10-Tap), making it versatile for a wide range of applications.
Performance and Applications
The CMV12000 sensor’s high sensitivity and superior shutter performance ensure exceptional results in light-starved or high-speed scenarios—ideal for electronics inspection, semiconductor metrology, and other demanding industries.
Customer Adoption and Innovations
Thanks to its technical specifications, including Active Sensor Control (ASC) and Adimec’s system integration expertise, the Q-12A65 has been selected by several medical and machine vision customers for their latest projects. For detailed specs, visit here.
Manufacturing Excellence
With the shift from R&D to mass production, Adimec introduced automated camera assembly processes to ensure consistent performance. “The new sensor positioning system guarantees best-in-class repeatability and reproducibility,” notes Peter Laros, Director of Operations.
