Adimec Introduces CoaXPress 1.1 Compliant Camera Series
Adimec has introduced two new camera models to its product lineup: the QUARTZ series’ Q-12A180 and the TMX-DHD series’ TMX7-DHD. Both cameras have achieved CoaXPress interface compliance certification for version 1.1, while maintaining backward compatibility with version 1.0.
The testing process included comprehensive electrical compliance assessments on October 1st followed by participation in the CoaXPress Plugfest event on October 8th. Though implementing the second-generation V1.1 25Gb/s CoaXPress Quad interface (quad refers to four data channels), these cameras maintain full compatibility with existing V1.0 frame grabbers.
Notably, all functionality operates through a single cable measuring up to 68 meters in length and providing 9W of power to the camera. This represents Adimec’s first CoaXPress 1.1 compliant camera model while showcasing the company’s commitment to developing high-performance imaging solutions for advanced metrology applications.
Key specifications for the Q-12A180 include:
- Resolution: 12 Megapixel
- Frame rate capability: 187 fps
- Interface bandwidth: CoaXPress CXP-6 Quad (4 x CXP-6) delivering up to 25 Gbits/s data transmission and 2 GByte/s peak transfer rates
The camera’s design enables precise measurement of increasingly smaller critical structures or defects with enhanced accuracy requirements in inline optical metrology systems.
Meanwhile, the TMX7-DHD features a sensitive 2/3" CCD sensor designed for reliable performance across changing lighting conditions from dawn to dusk. This rugged model offers multiple interface options including CoaXPress alongside established standards like Camera Link and HD-SDI. Its compact design with coaxial cabling simplifies system integration while providing full HD imaging at 60 fps.
Both camera models will be demonstrated in Adimec’s booth #1G68 during the Vision 2014 trade show in Stuttgart, Germany from November 4th to 6th. For additional compatibility information regarding QUAD CoaXPress frame grabbers with these new cameras, please click here.
