Overview of the Conference

The SPIE Photonics West conference stands as a leading gathering in the fields of laser technology, photonics, and biomedical optics. This extensive event took place from February 7th to 12th, 2015.

Highlight: The BiOS Conference

As part of this larger event, attendees could participate in the specialized BiOS conference running from February 7th to 8th. This focused on cutting-edge topics including biomedical optics, diagnostics and therapeutics, biophotonics, new imaging modalities, optical coherence tomography (OCT), neurophotonics, optogenetics, and tissue optics.

Insights into FFOCT Systems

In a recent interview, Fabrice Harms from LL Tech discussed the application of full-field optical coherence tomography (FFOCT) systems for non-invasive cancer assessment. For more details on this topic, here are some presentations available at the BiOS conference:

Full-field optical coherence tomography (FFOCT) for evaluation of endometrial cancer

Presented by Alexis Bruhat et al., this session provided insights into using FFOCT for assessing endometrial cancer.

Evaluation of breast glandular proliferations with full-field optical coherence tomography

Nadan et al. explored the use of FFOCT in evaluating breast tissue abnormalities.

Full field OCT and tissue elasticity measurements: a critical view

Boccara and Nahas offered a critical perspective on combining OCT with tissue elasticity measurements.

Large field of view full field optical coherence octomicroscopy for fingerprint imaging

Auksorius et al. demonstrated how FFOCT can be applied to fingerprint imaging.

Full-field OCT for fast diagnostic of head and neck cancer

De Leeuw et al. presented rapid diagnostic methods using FFOCT for head and neck cancers.

Endoscopic full-field optical coherence tomography for in vivo and in situ head and neck cancer assessment with a rigid probe

Benoit àLa Guillaume et al. showcased endoscopic OCT techniques for real-time cancer evaluation.

Adimec’s Demonstration at Photonics West

During the exhibition, visitors were invited to stop by Adimec’s booth (booth #4541) alongside LL Tech. The demonstration featured high-resolution, high-speed metrology cameras; extreme full well CMOS CoaXPress cameras specifically designed for FFOCT applications; and hyperspectral imaging systems.
