Jochem Herrmann Elected as New President of European Machine Vision Association (EMVA)
At this week’s EMVA General Assembly in Athens, Jochem Herrmann, co-founder and Chief Scientist at Dutch camera manufacturer Adimec, was announced as the new president of the European Machine Vision Association. The announcement was made during the event.
A Leadership Transition
Herrmann, who has been a member of the EMVA Board since 2013, succeeds Toni Ventura-Traveset from Datapixel (Spain). During his tenure, Ventura-Traveset skillfully guided the association through a period of transition. The current board and general manager expressed gratitude for Ventura’s contributions since the organization’s founding in 2003.
In his inaugural statement, Herrmann emphasized that it is now time to expand activities and foster further growth within EMVA.
An Expanded Board
On June 11th during the General Assembly, members elected an expanded board. New appointees include Dr. Kai-Udo Modrich (Carl Zeiss Automated Inspection) and Prof. Dr. Bernd Jähne (Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing). The existing board members—Gabriele Jansen (Vision Ventures), Michel Ollivier (Tiama, France), Toni Ventura-Traveset, and Jean Caron (Euresys)—were confirmed.
Michel Ollivier has taken on the role of EMVA Vice President while Jean Caron assumes the position of treasurer. Dirk Käseberg (Mettler-Toledo Garvens) resigned from the board to focus on company responsibilities but will remain engaged with EMVA in a non-official capacity.
