Allied Vision Expands Alvium Camera Series with New Sony SenSWIR Sensors
Allied Vision is bolstering its Alvium camera series for machine vision applications with new models incorporating Sony’s latest SenSWIR™ technology. These cameras, equipped with the 2nd generation SenSWIR InGaAs sensors IMX992 and IMX993, deliver high-resolution images at fast frame rates within a compact, lightweight, and low-power design (SWaP+C). The sensors are available with 5GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, or MIPI CSI-2 interfaces.

Benefits for Users:
- Compact Design: The Alvium SWIR cameras’ small form factor and low weight make them ideal for OEM system designs, available in 29 mm x 29 mm and 26 mm x 26 mm footprints.
- Modular Flexibility: Extensive options, including C-, CS, and S-Mount cameras, Alvium Frame and bare board cameras, or sensors without cover glass, provide design-in flexibility.
- High-Performance Sensors: Innovative digital InGaAs sensors with industry-smallest pixels ensure precise alignment for optimal image quality and accuracy in inspection systems.
- Adjustable Frame Rates: High frame rates can be increased using Region of Interest (ROI) settings.
- Robust Performance: On-board Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Contrast Control enhance vision quality under challenging conditions, such as haze, fog, or smoke.
- Reliable Operation: A wide operating temperature range and on-board temperature monitoring guarantee reliable operation in diverse conditions.
Broad Spectral Imaging Capabilities:
Alvium SWIR cameras support a spectral range from 400 nm to 1700 nm with high quantum efficiencies. This allows users to capture images in both the visible and SWIR spectra with a single camera, reducing overall system costs. Precise sensor alignment during production enables the creation of inspection systems with the highest requirements for image quality, resolution, and precision.
Comprehensive SWIR Area Scan Camera Portfolio:
Together with TKH Vision sister companies SVS-Vistek and NET, Allied Vision offers the broadest area scan camera portfolio for SWIR imaging. This includes:
- Goldey SWIR cameras with high versatility in resolution, interface (GigE Vision and CameraLink), lens-mount, spectral range (up to 2,200nm), or thermoelectric cooling (TEC1, TEC2, TECless).
- TECless Alvium SWIR cameras with multiple interface options (GigE Vision, 5GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, or CSI-2 interface incl. FPD-Link III or GSML2TM), and up to 5.3 Megapixel resolution.
- Iam SWIR Smart cam supporting all TEC-less IMX99x SenSWIR sensors.
- EXO and FXO cameras with Sony SenSWIR sensors with 400 – 1,700 nm spectral sensitivity and CoaXPress-12 and 10GigE interface.
