Allied Vision Enhances Alvium Camera Series with Sony's UV CMOS Sensor
Allied Vision has announced the addition of new camera models to its Alvium series, featuring Sony’s IMX487 CMOS sensor designed for ultraviolet (UV) imaging. These cameras utilize a backside illuminated global shutter technology, extending their capabilities into the ultraviolet spectral range. The Alvium UV cameras are the smallest industrial-grade UV imaging devices available on the market and are ideal for compact OEM systems in embedded or machine vision applications such as battery inspection, forensic analysis, and microscopy.
High-Quality UV Imaging
The new models incorporate Sony’s 8.1 MP Pregius IMX487 CMOS sensor, optimized for wavelengths between 200 nm to 400 nm. This enables high-quality UV imaging with low noise at resolutions and frame rates suitable for demanding industrial and scientific applications in the near-UV and mid-UV range. With a pixel size of just 2.74 μm, these cameras can detect minute details while maintaining high sensitivity.
