On July 7, 2022, Allied Vision announced the expansion of its Alvium camera lineup with two new series powered by ALVIUM Technology. These models feature GigE Vision interfaces and are designed to enhance industrial vision applications.

Key Highlights

The Alvium platform now includes cameras with a GigE Vision interface alongside existing USB3 Vision and MIPI CSI-2 options, offering users greater flexibility in speed levels. The Alvium G1 series (GigE Vision) will debut with 14 models featuring resolutions up to 24.6 MP. Meanwhile, the Alvium G5 series (5 GigE Vision) launches with 11 high-performance Sony IMX image sensors.

Both series cover a broad spectral range including UV, visible light, NIR, and SWIR wavelengths. They incorporate advanced features like FPNC, DPC, and Active Sensor Alignment for superior image quality, along with industrial-grade hardware ensuring reliability in vision applications.

Series Overview

  • Alvium G1 - Compact GigE Camera: The G1 series offers a compact design with excellent image quality, leveraging popular sensors and Allied Vision’s Alvium chip. These cameras are built on reliable industrial standards for seamless integration.

  • Alvium G5 - Performance Upgrade: Designed as an easy upgrade path for existing systems (USB3 Vision or GigE Vision), the G5 series provides increased bandwidth while maintaining backward compatibility with GigE Vision.

Availability and Supply

Allied Vision assures availability of both Alvium G1 and G5 cameras throughout 2022, addressing current supply concerns. Early production units are already available.
