Allied Vision Unveils High-Performance CSI-2 Cameras at Embedded World 2020
Allied Vision, a leading camera manufacturer, is showcasing its latest MIPI CSI-2 cameras equipped with Sony’s high-performance IMX image sensors at the Embedded World trade fair in Nuremberg. These new models are part of the innovative Alvium 1800 camera series and represent a significant advancement for industrial embedded vision applications.
Cross-Overs Between Performance and Compact Design
The Alvium 1800 series is designed as a cross-over camera, offering machine vision-level performance in an embedded system-friendly format. Featuring Sony Pregius CMOS global shutter sensors, these cameras deliver high frame rates, excellent sensitivity, and superior image quality—essential for industrial image processing.
Leveraging Allied Vision’s Alvium platform, optimized for embedded systems, the series features a compact, lightweight design available as single-board modules or open-housing options. This approach supports easy integration into small systems while maintaining an industry-grade hardware standard with extensive image correction functions and precise triggering capabilities.

Seamless Integration Support
To facilitate integration into embedded systems, Allied Vision provides CSI-2 drivers on GitHub and adapter boards compatible with various Systems-on-Module (SoM) and carrier boards. The company will demonstrate these tools alongside sample host platforms including NVIDIA Jetson Nano and development boards such as Google Coral at their booth.
Deep Learning Applications
Live demos showcasing deep learning applications—including anomaly detection and intelligent triggering—will highlight the cameras’ capabilities when paired with NVIDIA Jetson hardware like the Xavier platform. Both CSI-2 and USB3 variants of the Alvium series, along with Allied Vision’s Mako G GigE Vision camera, will be featured.
