On October 24-25, 2019, Allied Vision announced the addition of two new models to its Alvium 1800 USB camera series at the European Embedded Vision Conference in Stuttgart. These cameras are designed for both industrial embedded vision and machine vision applications.

The Alvium 1800 series combines traditional industrial camera strengths with compact sensor modules, offering benefits such as small size, light weight, low power consumption, and affordability.

Introducing Two New Models

Two new USB3 Vision-compatible models have been added to the lineup:

  • Alvium 1800 U-050: This 0.5-megapixel camera uses an ON Semi PYTHON 480 sensor with a global shutter and a 1/3.6" optical format.

    • Resolution: 808 × 608 pixels
    • Frame rate: Up to 116 frames per second
  • Alvium 1800 U-120: Featuring an ON Semi AR0135CS sensor, this camera provides a resolution of 1.2 megapixels and operates at up to 52 frames per second.

    • Optical format: Type 1/3
    • Shutter type: Global Shutter

Both models can be easily integrated using the Vimba Suite on Windows, Linux, and Linux ARM platforms.

Availability

Starting late October, these cameras will be available in various housing options (closed, open, bare board) and lens mounts (S-Mount, CS-Mount, C-Mount). The USB interface can be positioned either at the back or left side of the camera body. Each model also includes three variants ranging from 0.5 to 5 megapixels, with both monochrome and color versions.
