Allied Vision Debuts at Embedded World 2018 with New Embedded Vision Products
On February 27th to March 1st, 2018, Allied Vision made its debut as an exhibitor at the premier international embedded systems event, “embedded world” in Nuremberg. Located in Hall 4A, Booth #531, the company showcased live demonstrations of integrating image processing into embedded systems. Highlights included their new Allied Vision 1 product line—designed specifically for embedded vision applications with powerful performance, compact size, low energy consumption, and competitive pricing.
Live Demonstrations
Attendees witnessed two key demos:
Demonstration 1: MIPI CSI-2 Interface
The Allied Vision 1 product line connects via a MIPI CSI-2 interface to an embedded board. It processes image optimization features in real-time across four regions of interest (ROI) for captured images, including debayering, binning, white balance, contrast enhancement, and more.
Demonstration 2: Fault Detection
A second demo focused on rapid fault identification during production workflows. Built on a system-on-module with carrier board, this application demonstrates embedded vision’s practical use cases. Additionally, the Mako camera—a compact model optimized for small systems—was featured here due to its ease of integration.
The Allied Vision 1 Series: A Breakthrough in Embedded Imaging
In January 2018, the Allied Vision 1 product line earned the prestigious Top Innovation 2018 award from inVision, a leading industry journal for image processing and embedded vision. This camera series delivers unmatched image quality and performance tailored for cost-sensitive and space-constrained designs.
Key Features:
- ALVIUM® Technology: Proprietary chip design optimized for advanced digital imaging.
- Interface Options: MIPI CSI-2 and USB3 Vision support, with sensor flexibility across the 130 and 140 series.
Other Embedded Vision Solutions
Two additional Allied Vision camera families complement the embedded ecosystem:
Mako Camera
Ideal for compact systems, it offers small dimensions (60.5 mm x 29 mm x 29 mm) and versatile I/O options—perfect for applications with tight installation constraints or budget limitations.
Manta Camera
Versatile modular design supports angled heads and board-level variants, enabling flexible integration across diverse embedded projects.
embedded world Conference
The company also contributed to the conference’s “Embedded Vision” track through a presentation titled:
“Shifting Advanced Image Processing from Embedded Boards to Future Camera Modules—A Paradigm Change for Embedded Designers?”
Paul Maria Zalewski, Product Manager at Allied Vision, delivered this talk on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018, starting at 10:30 am, at the NCC Ost Exhibition Centre.
