The latest version of pylon, pylon 7.5, marks another significant milestone by introducing support for Basler Racer 2 line scan cameras featuring a CXP-12 interface. This integration enables new image acquisition applications that demand high-speed performance and exceptional spatial resolution. The advancements stem from enhanced functionalities in the following key components:

  • CXP-12 imaWorx Quad Frame Grabbers (including models with 1C, 2C, and 4C interfaces).
  • GenICam GenTL Interface: A standardized framework for camera communication.
  • Real-time Kernel Mode Drivers: Ensuring low-latency performance for demanding applications.

Leverage the seamless synergy between Basler’s hardware and software components to design modern, cost-effective solutions tailored to your needs.

New Line Profile Feature in pylon Viewer

The Line Profile feature, newly introduced in this version, allows precise calibration of lighting and optics for Basler line scan and area scan cameras. Simply draw a line on the image to visualize pixel intensity values along that line and obtain statistical data to evaluate lighting uniformity.

New vTool: OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

Basler’s pylon image processing suite has been expanded with an OCR vTool in pylon 7.5. This tool is particularly useful for a wide range of applications, such as reading expiry dates on product packaging or tracking objects in production environments.
