Basler has released pylon 7.2, expanding support for its software suite to include Linux ARM 64-bit systems, alongside the previously available platforms. This update also introduces new licensing tiers—Basic and Pro versions—to cater to a broader range of customer requirements regarding functionality, performance, and budget. Additionally, the portfolio of pylon vTools has been expanded with more license options, including one for Template Matching.

New Static Defect Pixel Correction Feature

Defect or hot pixels caused by dirt, aging, or environmental factors can disrupt your inspection tasks and lead to costly production downtime. With this new feature in recent Basler cameras, pylon Viewer, and the pylon APIs, you can easily eliminate these issues. Simply identify the defective pixels, record their coordinates either through the user list in pylon Viewer or programmatically via the API, and upload the data to the camera firmware. The camera will then automatically correct all pixel defects in real-time without any delays.
