Basler Porting Guide for Yocto Integration with i.MX 8M Processors
Basler has released a new Porting Guide that provides a step-by-step approach to integrating Basler dart cameras with the MIPI CSI-2 interface into Yocto-based platforms. This guide targets developers using the NXP® i.MX 8M application processor series, making it relevant for system-on-module manufacturers and system integrators looking to incorporate vision capabilities into their systems quickly.
The Yocto Project® is an open-source collaboration initiative that offers templates, tools, and methodologies for building Linux-based systems. To streamline the porting process, Basler provides all necessary sources as dedicated GitHub meta-layers. These layers can be directly integrated into existing Yocto projects without additional effort.
Each layer includes thorough documentation covering integration procedures and compilation steps. The resources within these layers are derived from several key components: pylon Viewer, pypylon, pylon SDK, GenTL Producer, Basler Kernel Patches, and Basler Camera Drivers.
By consolidating all required elements into clearly defined bundles, this guide significantly simplifies the porting process for developers working with NXP i.MX 8M platforms.
