Basler Introduces 18-Megapixel Gpixel Sensors in ace 2 Camera Series

With the integration of Gpixel’s latest CMOS global shutter sensor, the GMAX2518, Basler has embraced the ongoing trend toward higher resolutions in compact sensor formats. This new addition to the ace 2 camera series delivers an impressive 18-megapixel resolution (4508 x 4096 pixels) within a 1-inch sensor format featuring 2.5 µm x 2.5 µm pixel size. The resulting image quality is exceptional, especially when paired with the compatible Basler C11 lenses.

Like its predecessors equipped with Gpixel sensors (GMAX2505 and GMAX2509), these new models offer flexible connectivity options via USB 3.0 or GigE Vision interfaces in both mono and color configurations. The ace 2 Pro line further enhances this offering through integrated Beyond features, maximizing customer value by combining the camera with its sensor.

This expansion brings the total number of Basler ace 2 models to over 110 variants across Basic and Pro lines. The entire portfolio includes sensors from Gpixel alongside Sony’s offerings, providing resolutions ranging from 2.3 to 24 megapixels at frame rates up to 160 frames per second.
