The strategic push for innovation at Baumer has delivered significant results. The company achieved record sales exceeding 500 million euros through its expertise in sensors. A key enabler of this success was the establishment of the new High-Tech Center Bodensee located in Stockach.

Smart Sensor Solutions Drive Expansion

CEO Oliver Vietze emphasized that growth over the past fiscal year was largely fueled by continuous innovation and development within Baumer’s portfolio of smart sensor solutions. These advancements strengthened the company’s position as a technology leader.

The Stockach facility, operational since 2018, played a pivotal role in this success. This site combines engineering and production capabilities for smart sensors with logistics functions serving European markets. In particular, its automated centralized warehousing system has been crucial during periods of supply chain volatility, helping maintain Baumer’s reputation for reliable delivery performance.

Simultaneously, investments are underway at the Frauenfeld headquarters. The new Innovation Center represents a 20 million Swiss franc investment in sustainable technology and features energy-efficient design elements including solar panels and geothermal systems.

Strategic Positioning for Uncertain Times

Despite anticipating ongoing market challenges, Baumer’s vertically integrated structure combined with long-term operational efficiency has positioned it favorably. CEO Vietze stressed that the company’s focus on sustainability extends beyond environmental considerations to include digital process optimization.

The manufacturing sector continues to present expansion opportunities through increasing adoption of factory automation technologies. As Vietze noted, “smart production starts with the sensor,” highlighting Baumer’s foundational role in modern industrial systems.
