Lasse-Pekka Thiem, Senior Product Manager for Connectivity & Control at Baumer, is actively involved in the IO-Link Steering Committee.

Baumer, a leading sensor specialist, has now become an active member of the steering committee driving further development efforts for IO-Link alongside other industry leaders.

The IO-Link Steering Committee works with companies from across automation to improve this advanced communication system. The committee includes elected members and key working group directors responsible for technology, quality, marketing, profiles, and integration tasks.

With 18 member organizations now represented on the committee, Baumer joins peers committed to advancing IO-Link technology.

Newly appointed members were selected at June 23 meeting in Frankfurt/Main during the IO-Link general assembly.

Lasse-Pekka Thiem sees continuous development of IO-Link as essential for achieving next-level digital production.

“On the path toward smart factories, I don’t see an alternative to using IO-Link technology," he notes. “However, we must continue to make it even easier for users and unlock this advanced system’s full potential.”
