In technical applications where precision matters, integrating rotary encoders can be challenging—especially when dealing with moving parts and tight installation spaces. However, accurate position measurement in a compact design is critical, particularly in medical technology or mobile automation systems.

To address these needs, Baumer has expanded its MAGRES EAM series with the new EAM 300 model, which represents our smallest absolute multi-turn encoder featuring CANopen interface. This innovative solution offers exceptional precision up to ±0.15° while maintaining a remarkably compact size—just 30 mm in diameter and 59 mm (full shaft) or 53.3 mm (hollow shaft) in length.

The EAM 300 provides design flexibility through multiple configuration options, including both plug and cable connections as well as axial or radial outgoing units for full and hollow shaft versions. This versatility makes it ideal for retrofitting existing systems or incorporating into new designs with space constraints.

Like its larger counterparts (EAM 360 and EAM 580), the EAM 300 delivers world-class precision of ±0.15° thanks to advanced magnetic sensing technology that operates reliably even in dusty environments. The inclusion of robust ball bearings ensures long-term stability and performance.

This compact encoder is well-suited for demanding applications in medical imaging equipment, agricultural machinery, construction technology, and factory automation systems with limited installation space.
