The latest generation of LXT cameras, featuring third-generation Sony Pregius CMOS sensors, delivers significant improvements in sensitivity, image quality, and frame rate. These six new models range from 0.5 to 7.1 megapixels and support up to 1500 fps with resolutions tailored for diverse applications.

Key Technical Specifications

  • Pixel Size: Available in either 4.5 µm or 9 µm, offering exceptional sensitivity ideal for short exposure times or NIR imaging.
  • SNR Performance: Achieves a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 44 dB at the smaller pixel size (4.5 µm), ensuring reliable image analysis even in challenging conditions like laser welding or fluctuating illumination scenarios.
  • High-Speed Imaging: Supports ultra-fast applications through its high frame rates, making it suitable for machine error analysis and eye tracking systems.

New Features

  1. Dual Conversion Gain Setting:
    • “High” gain is optimized for low-light environments or short exposures.
    • The “Low” setting enhances SNR and dynamic range under higher light conditions.
  2. Integrated HDR Function: With a dynamic range exceeding 82 dB, this feature simplifies image evaluation in scenes with high contrast without burdening the host PC’s CPU.

Industrial Design

The 10 GigE LX series models are built for robust, long-term operation in demanding environments:

  • Power Output: Features four independently controlled power outputs (up to 120 W) via pulse width modulation, enabling direct illumination control.
  • IP Protection: Optional tube systems provide IP65 or IP67 ratings without external enclosures.
  • Precision Time Sync: Supports IEEE 1588 PTP for accurate time synchronization in Ethernet networks.

Availability

Production of the new LXT cameras began in Q2 2020, offering advanced features tailored to precision imaging and industrial automation needs.
