The Baumer CX.I cameras have impressed both the expert panel and participants of the online poll at the inspect award 2019. These cameras were awarded first prize in the Vision category by Wiley-VCH publishers, an annual recognition for exceptional innovation in industrial image processing. The award is selected each year by an expert panel who shortlists ten products per category: Vision, Automation, and Control. Readers from over 45,000 users of the magazines inspect and messtec drives Automation, as well as other online platforms, then vote for their favorites in an online survey.

The success of the CX.I cameras lies in their overall design, which delivers enhanced performance across various applications. For instance, with an expanded operating temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C, no additional cooling or heating systems are required. This simplifies system integration and reduces costs significantly.

Additionally, four power outputs featuring pulse width modulation (PWM) provide up to 120 W of output power (maximum voltage: 48 V / current: 2.5 A). These features enable direct lighting control while eliminating the need for extra components.

The cameras also support exposure times as short as 1 µs and frame rates up to 1000 fps, making them suitable for flexible deployment across diverse industries and demanding tasks.

Another key innovation is their patented modular tube system, which allows users to quickly attach extension rings of varying lengths. This protects lenses from dust and dirt effectively. For even more challenging environments, specialized IP-rated housing accessories (IP 65/67 or IP 69K) can be integrated seamlessly, transforming the cameras into models suitable for hygienic areas in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
