Baumer is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its LBFH and LBFI level switches, featuring IO-Link compatibility and ATEX certification. These advanced sensors are designed to streamline automation processes while meeting stringent safety standards for industrial and hygienic applications.

The integration of IO-Link technology enables users to configure the sensors seamlessly without additional programming. This capability ensures error-free duplication of systems and facilitates device replacement, significantly reducing downtime and installation costs. Additionally, diagnostic data can be retrieved and evaluated at any time, enhancing system availability and reliability.

Enhanced Flexibility for Industrial Use

LBFH and LBFI level switches comply with ATEX categories 1 and 2 for gas and dust, making them suitable for hazardous environments. The reduced current consumption of their advanced electronics allows the use of commercially available standard barriers alongside Baumer’s proprietary solutions. This flexibility is particularly valuable in retrofitting existing plants without extensive modifications or added costs.

Dual-Output Monitoring Capabilities

With two independent switching outputs, these level switches can monitor up to two distinct process steps (e.g., production and cleaning) or two media groups (e.g., water and oil). The dual-output system also supports a plausibility check of the sensor’s functionality, ensuring reliable detection of wire breaks and effective monitoring across all operational programs.

Robust Performance in Challenging Conditions

Both variants are engineered to operate effectively at temperatures up to 135 °C. Additionally, the hygienic application variant includes SIP (Steam, Water, and Air) capabilities for sterilization or cleaning processes, further expanding their versatility in demanding industrial settings.
