Baumer has broadened its portfolio of process sensors with the introduction of the FlexFlow family, which combines flow velocity monitoring and media temperature measurement in a single device.

These sensors operate on calorimetric principles, enabling them to simultaneously track both flow speed and medium temperature. They feature IO-Link compatibility and offer flexible output options—either two switching outputs or one combined analog/switching output (compatible with 4–20 mA or 0–10 V signals), depending on configuration.

The PF20H and PF20S versions are specifically designed for use in hygienic and industrial environments, ensuring reliability across diverse applications.

By integrating two measurement functions into one sensor, the FlexFlow family reduces the number of installation points required in closed-loop systems. This approach minimizes costs associated with setup, maintenance, and storage while improving system efficiency.

The sensors’ symmetrical design allows for optimal positioning regardless of orientation or installation angle. This ensures accurate measurements and enhances process safety by maintaining consistent performance under varying conditions.

IO-Link support enables simultaneous configuration of multiple sensors via a master device. This streamlines adjustments during setup or batch transitions, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency. Users can also continuously access diagnostic data for proactive system monitoring.

Constructed from robust stainless steel with integrated electronics and evaluation components, these sensors eliminate the need for complex wiring or additional user interfaces. This simplifies installation and supports efficient process management without compromising functionality.

All models in the FlexFlow family are rated for operation up to 150°C, making them suitable for CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-in-Place) processes commonly required in hygienic industries.
