In collaboration with our valued Italian reseller, Visionlink, The Imaging Source presented its comprehensive range of industrial cameras to attendees at SPS Italia, Italy’s premier event for smart and sustainable industrial automation. Held from May 28-30, the exhibition provided a platform to demonstrate cutting-edge applications in image processing and embedded vision technology.

High-Speed Inspection Sorting with USB 3.0 Cameras

A key highlight was REGG Inspection’s demonstration of high-speed inspection sorting using up to five USB 3.0 industrial cameras capable of capturing 20 images per second. This system processes, analyzes, generates reports, and executes decision-making commands through an industrial computer and PLC, leveraging the IC Imaging Control SDK with DELPHI-based software.

Embedded Vision for Industrial Automation

The integration efficiency and reduced hardware footprint of embedded vision systems have made them increasingly popular in automation and quality control. These systems offer real-time image analysis, enhancing system responsiveness and operational reliability while minimizing complexity and costs.

The Imaging Source’s demo showcased a simple sorting task using its 6-channel carrier board paired with the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX SoM. The demonstration featured multi-camera functionality, flexible trigger options, and I/O capabilities in a marble run color-sorting application.
