Software Enhancements from The Imaging Source: New Updates for Vision Applications
As The Imaging Source continues to expand its lineup of high-performance imaging hardware, our software engineers have also been working on improving the tools that power your vision applications. We are pleased to announce updates and enhancements across our software portfolio. These include improvements to our SDKs, driver packages, programming samples, and end-user software.
Updated Software Development Kits (SDKs)
tiscamera: Linux Image Acquisition SDK
Recently released tiscamera 1.0, The Imaging Source’s image acquisition SDK for Linux, is now available on our website along with accompanying software packages. The open-source code can be accessed via our GitHub repository and includes significant internal and external changes:
- Unified handling and naming of camera properties: Properties are managed consistently across the API.
- Improved and simplified property API: More intuitive methods for accessing camera parameters.
- Seamless integration of MIPI cameras: Support for MIPI cameras is now integrated smoothly into tiscamera.
- Optional NVIDIA® CUDA-based preprocessing: Preprocessing can be accelerated on the NVIDIA® Jetson™ platform using
tcamdutils-cuda
if needed. - Overall reliability and performance improvements: Enhancements ensure smoother operation.
On the Windows Side
Our GitHub repository for programming samples of IC Imaging Control has been updated. This includes an improved Python wrapper alongside other changes to enhance functionality.
End-user Software
IC Measure 3.0: Development is underway for a revised version of our well-known measurement software, IC Measure. The new release aims to achieve platform independence and multi-camera support. While we are working on full releases across Windows, Linux, NVIDIA Jetson™ platforms, an initial version (IC Measure 3.0) has been released specifically for Linux.
