Charlotte, NC (July 25, 2018) — The Imaging Source has announced the immediate availability of ten new GigE Vision cameras, featuring Sony’s latest Pregius and STARVIS sensors. These devices represent a significant addition to their compact 33G-series lineup.

The expanded product line offers resolutions ranging from 0.4 MP (maximum 300 fps) up to 6.4 MP (maximum 19 fps). Each camera utilizes either Sony’s Pregius (global shutter) or STARVIS (rolling shutter) sensors, known for their superior image quality and color accuracy. The monochrome versions boast excellent sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum.

These high-performance sensors surpass older CCD counterparts across all metrics, providing a more economical solution without compromising on performance.

Adopting the standard GigE Vision interface ensures seamless integration with existing image processing systems. Key features include sharp images free from distortion, a compact physical size (29x29x57 mm), and durable industrial construction equipped with a 6-pin Hirose connector and C/CS mount options. These attributes make them well-suited for demanding machine vision applications in manufacturing, quality control, inspection systems, and intelligent transportation solutions.

The Imaging Source offers comprehensive software tools compatible with Windows and Linux platforms:

  • IC Imaging Control SDK
  • IC Capture (image acquisition)
  • IC 3D (depth estimation)
  • IC Measure (on-screen measurement)
  • IC Barcode (barcode detection)
