New Series of USB3 Vision Cameras Available from The Imaging Source
Charlotte, NC, United States (January 24, 2018) — The Imaging Source has announced the immediate availability of a new series of single-board cameras and industrial models. These eighteen USB3 Vision-compliant camera models feature cutting-edge Sony Pregius and STARVIS CMOS sensors with USB 3.1 (gen. 1) reversible Type-C port connectivity.
The newly released “37 Series” includes color and monochrome options, delivering high frame rates alongside superior dynamic range and exceptional color reproduction.
Engineered to meet the requirements of contemporary imaging systems, these cameras incorporate Sony’s IMX287 global shutter sensor for fast performance. At resolutions ranging from 0.4 MP up to VGA, speeds reach impressive levels: a maximum of 539 fps at 0.4 MP and 600 fps at VGA resolution; the IMX273 model achieves max frame rates of 236 fps at 1.5 MP with 600 fps available for VGA (faster capture possible at lower resolutions). These capabilities make them perfect for high-speed machine vision applications including automation, quality assurance and inspection.
The board-level cameras’ compact form factor—measuring just 30 x 30 x 12 mm—and USB 3 Vision compliance facilitate easy integration into standard-compliant projects. Their excellent price-to-performance ratio positions these devices as ideal solutions for demanding embedded machine vision tasks. Encased versions come in a more robust design measuring 36 x 36 x 25 mm with support for C/CS or S-mount lenses.
The Imaging Source offers free software tools and SDKs across Windows and Linux platforms, including:
