JAI Introduces New 24 Models in its Go-X Series of Industrial Machine Vision Cameras
JAI has expanded its Go-X Series with a batch of 24 new global shutter camera models, equipped with the latest Sony Pregius S CMOS sensors. These additions not only enhance resolution options but also introduce three interface types to improve application flexibility.
Interface Options and Resolution Enhancements
The additional cameras are divided into two main groups:
- CoaXPress 2.0: 12 models providing high-speed transmission with bandwidth efficiency
- GigE Vision (5GBASE-T): 12 upcoming models operating at faster speeds, scheduled for release this year
Resolution capabilities have significantly improved, extending from the previous range of 2.3 to 12.3 megapixels up to an impressive 24.5 megapixels. Despite achieving higher resolution, camera dimensions remain compact (29 mm x 29 mm optical format), making them compatible with standard C-mount lenses.
Technical Highlights
Pregius S CMOS Sensors
These state-of-the-art sensors utilize backside illumination technology to support smaller pixel sizes without compromising sensitivity. This innovation allows JAI to deliver higher resolution while maintaining the compact design of the Go-X Series cameras.
Interface Features
The new GigE Vision models leverage the grabber-less connection capability that has made this interface standard so popular in machine vision applications. Frame rates range from 4 fps for 24.5-megapixel output up to 23 fps for higher resolutions, within the limits of the 1 Gbps interface.
Xpress Compression Function
For users requiring faster performance with GigE Vision cameras, JAI has implemented a lossless compression algorithm called “Xpress.” This technology reduces data size while enabling complete image reconstruction on host systems.
Xscale Scaling Function
All new models include a sub-pixel scaling function that supports fractional pixel adjustments. Unlike traditional binning methods limited to whole pixels, this flexible solution helps match optical formats and resolutions when replacing older cameras.
Complete Series Overview
The expansion brings the Go-X Series total size to 48 camera models (24 existing plus 24 new). All cameras maintain industrial-grade specifications:
- Shock resistance: 80G
- Vibration resistance: 10G
- Designed for continuous operation in challenging environments
- Backed by a six-year warranty
