Latest Additions to the FXO Camera Series: fxo545 and fxo546
SVS-Vistek GmbH is pleased to introduce two new models in its FXO camera series—the fxo545 and fxo546. These cameras feature high-quality Sony Pregius S sensors, with resolutions of 8.1 megapixels for the fxo546 and 12.3 megapixels for the fxo545. They are equipped with either a single-channel CoaXPress-12 interface or a 10GigE interface, ensuring high-speed data transmission.
Outstanding Image Quality
Sony’s fourth-generation Pregius S sensors have revolutionized image processing, renowned for their exceptional light sensitivity, uniformity, and superior image quality. The fxo545 and fxo546 models leverage these sensors in combination with back-illuminated technology featuring ultra-small pixels (2.74 x 2.74 µm) and a global shutter to deliver high-quality images even at low light levels. These sensors boast outstanding quantum efficiency, making them the benchmark for C-mount cameras.
Interfaces for High Performance
The CoaXPress-12 and 10GigE interfaces in these models are designed for maximum performance. Both interfaces support frame rates of up to 88 frames/s (fxo546) and 61 frames/s (fxo545), ensuring rapid data transmission.
CoaXPress allows cable lengths up to 25 meters, with excellent stability due to its low jitter and latency. It also supports Power over CoaXPress (PoCXP), simplifying power delivery.
For users employing the 10GigE interface, distances of up to 100 meters between the camera and PC are achievable without additional hardware. This interface leverages existing Ethernet networks, as its control mechanisms mirror those of GigE cameras. Additionally, models with integrated large image memory (fxo545MGXE and fxo546MGXE) support Burst Mode, enabling rapid triggering even under high network loads.
Versatile Applications
Beyond their imaging capabilities, the fxo545 and fxo546 models incorporate numerous practical features. For instance, CoaXPress cameras include integrated Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), while the Sony Pregius S sensor supports interframe times as short as 2 µs. The Precision Time Protocol (PTP) facilitates synchronized operation in multi-camera systems through precise timestamps.
The “4I/O-Matrix” framework from SVS-Vistek, controlled via GenICam, includes features like ROI, binning, and programmable timers, enhancing the camera’s functionality. Both monochrome and color variants are available, making these models suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. Their robust design ensures reliable operation at temperatures up to 60 °C.
Conclusion
With their exceptional image quality, high-speed interfaces, and advanced features, the fxo545 and fxo546 models from SVS-Vistek are ideal for demanding applications requiring resolutions between 8 and 12 megapixels.
