Sony’s latest polarized sensors are streamlining common machine vision tasks. As one of the pioneers in camera manufacturing, SVS-Vistek is already offering these technologies as part of its series production lineup.
Revolutionary Technology
The new sensor allows for measuring all directions and grades of polarization simultaneously. This capability enables highly reliable image processing results with significantly reduced effort and improved outcomes. Such technology could prove essential for integrators facing challenges like surface inspection, analyzing transparent materials (water, plastics, glass), or solving complex problems such as reading black text on dark tires.
First Models
The initial models feature Sony’s IMX250MZR sensor, delivering 5 megapixel resolution. Additional resolutions are planned. These cameras support both GigE Vision with up to 23 fps and USB3 Vision at 72 fps. SVS-Vistek is now shipping these polarized camera models in quantity.
