With Sony’s new IMX Pregius 2 sensors, CMOS image quality has been elevated to a new standard. SVS-Vistek is advancing its ‘X interfaces’ strategy by introducing EXO cameras equipped with Sony IMX sensors and Camera Link connectivity. This integration makes the full range of Sony IMX sensors—spanning from 2.3 megapixels up to 12 megapixels—accessible via three major interfaces: Camera Link, USB3, and GigEVision.

The new EXO cameras operate in Camera Link base mode. When paired with certain framegrabbers (tested here with Euresys), the ‘x3’ tap configuration delivers a significant performance improvement of over 50%. For instance, a Camera Link box using an IMX174 sensor achieves approximately 100 fps, while an EXO267MCL camera with the IMX267 sensor reaches 28 fps.

These cameras are ideal for upgrading existing machine vision systems and serve as a solid foundation for new designs leveraging the advantages of Camera Link technology.

The EXO represents SVS-Vistek’s latest platform for C-mount cameras, featuring an all-in-one high-performance software suite tailored for industrial machine vision applications. Its precisely engineered unibody housing minimizes mechanical distortion even when fitted with heavy optics. Additionally, it offers superior thermal performance to ensure reliable operation under demanding conditions.
