At the Vision 2014 trade show, SVS-VISTEK introduced a new camera series called EXO. This versatile line features a “classic” 50x50 design and is designed to help system integrators adapt solutions easily to different conditions and requirements.

Multi-Sensor, Multi-Interface, Flexible Design

The primary goal behind the EXO’s design was ease of integration without compromising functionality. Its precision-machined monocoque aluminum body accommodates a wide range of sensor and interface combinations. Users can choose from various CMOS and CCD sensors, including recent models like Sony IMX174 (2.3MP) or high-resolution CCDs such as ICX674 (3MP), ICX694 (6MP), and others.

High-Resolution Capabilities

The EXO supports cameras with resolutions ranging from 0.3 to 12 megapixels, utilizing advanced CMOS or CCD technology. Upcoming models, including ON Semi’s Python CMOS series and the established KAIxx050 series, will expand this range even further in early 2015.

Flexible Connectivity

For seamless image transmission, the EXO offers multiple interface options: GigE Vision, Camera Link Base, or USB3 Vision. These standardized interfaces ensure compatibility across all models.

Advanced Features

All EXO models share a standout feature: the ability to individually control up to four LED illumination sources via an integrated sequencer. This allows for programmable exposure settings and creates new cost-effective solutions for various applications.

A Smart Choice

In summary, the EXO combines cutting-edge sensors with practical design elements, offering precision imaging at an accessible price point. Its standardized connectors and broad feature set make it ideal for a wide range of vision systems.
