WATERLOO, Canada – November 30, 2023 – Teledyne DALSA is pleased to announce that its AxCIS™ family of high-speed and high-resolution fully integrated line scan imaging modules are now entering production. These Contact Image Sensors (CIS) offer a cost-effective solution for demanding machine vision applications by combining sensors, lenses, and lights into one compact unit.

Superior Performance

The AxCIS™ modules deliver exceptional image quality powered by Teledyne’s multiline CMOS image sensors. They achieve up to 120 kHz line rates for monochrome imaging or 60 kHz x 2 for HDR imaging at a pixel size of 28 µm (equivalent to 900 dpi). This combination enables precise defect detection with unprecedented accuracy.

Unique Features

The innovative sensor design ensures complete field-of-view coverage without missing any pixels, providing seamless images without interpolation. For HDR imaging, dual rows with independent exposure control enhance detectability for highly reflective materials while improving dynamic range. Beyond defect detection, the unique design also supports metrology applications.

Design Flexibility and Ease of Use

AxCIS™ is designed to be scalable across various field-of-view sizes using a single 24V power supply. Its compact form factor with an IP60 dust-proof optical path makes it suitable for installation in tight spaces, even with limited vertical clearance.

The Camera Link HS SFP+ fiber optic interface provides high-throughput data transmission over standard low-cost cables while maintaining immunity to EMI radiation, making it ideal for harsh industrial environments.
