This new series leverages advanced imaging technologies to deliver enhanced performance for machine vision, outdoor surveillance, and intelligent traffic monitoring applications.

Key Specifications

The Emerald Gen2 sensors are available in two resolutions:

  • 8.9 Megapixels (4,096 x 2,160)
  • 12 Megapixels (4,096 x 3,072)

Options include monochrome or color configurations and support for two-speed grades—standard and high-performance models. The high-speed variants are ideal for demanding applications requiring sharp images at very high speeds, such as food sorting, quality inspection, and intelligent traffic systems.

Technical Highlights

  • Compact Design: Featuring a small 2.8 µm global shutter pixel size, the sensors utilize Teledyne e2v’s latest light pipe technology to achieve up to 67 dB dynamic range in 10-bit and 12-bit ADC modes. This enables cameras to operate effectively in high-contrast environments without image exposure issues.

  • Enhanced Integration: The sensor matrix is housed in a compact 21 x 20 mm² Ceramic Land Grid Array (CLGA) package, which supports 1-inch optical formats for easier and more cost-effective integration into various systems.

  • Flexible Connectivity: Offering both LVDS and MIPI CSI 2 output interfaces, the sensors provide camera manufacturers with versatile options based on customer requirements.

  • Low Noise & High Sensitivity: Equipped with dual-light pipe technology, the sensors deliver excellent low-noise performance (< 3e-) and improved sensitivity along with enhanced angular response.
