Linea HS 32k TDI Camera Earns Vision Systems Design Platinum Award
Teledyne DALSA, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY), has been recognized as the global leader in machine vision technology. The company announced that its latest charge-domain CMOS TDI camera—the Linea HS 32k—has received the prestigious Platinum Innovators Award from the Vision Systems Design 2020 Innovators Awards program.
Xing-Fei He, Senior Product Manager for Teledyne DALSA’s line scan portfolio, shared excitement about this achievement: “We are honored to receive a Platinum Award from VSD. This recognition is particularly meaningful as Teledyne DALSA celebrates its 40th anniversary of innovation and commercial success.”
A major challenge in modern machine vision involves increasing image resolution while reducing system-level costs. The Linea HS 32k TDI camera offers an innovative solution to this conflicting requirement, enabling OEMs to integrate the new camera into existing systems without replacing optics, thereby achieving higher performance.
The camera utilizes two 16k/5μm TDI arrays with pixel offset technology. It captures two real-time images and reconstructs them to achieve a higher resolution of 32k/2.5μm. This patented super-resolution technique enhances detectability for subpixel defects while maintaining existing lighting setups and lens compatibility without sacrificing responsivity or MTF, despite the smaller physical pixel size.
