Waterloo, CANADA ─ September 29, 2020

Teledyne DALSA, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY), today announced the start of full production for its Genie™ Nano-5G M/C8100 camera. This model is built on ON Semiconductor’s new 45M monochrome and color sensors, marking the first camera in this series to enter mass production.

The Genie Nano-5G 45M leverages a new family of XGS sensors from ON Semiconductor, replacing older high-resolution KAI CCD sensors that are no longer available. These GigE Vision cameras are designed for industrial imaging applications requiring fast data capture and transfer speeds. Equipped with Teledyne DALSA’s TurboDrive technology™, the camera delivers full-resolution image transfers at up to 19 frames per second (fps).

The Genie Nano-5G 45M features a compact form factor measuring just 59 mm x 59 mm and supports a seamless transition from 1 GigE Vision to 5 GigE Vision without requiring software changes. This makes it easier for system designers to integrate the camera into existing vision systems, extending their lifespan while improving performance.

Key Features:

  • High-Speed Performance: Achieves up to 19 fps with full-resolution image transfer using TurboDrive technology™.
  • Seamless Integration: Supports transitions from 1 GigE Vision to 5 GigE Vision without software modifications.
  • Compact Design: Measures only 59 mm x 59 mm, making it ideal for space-constrained applications.

Teledyne DALSA is part of the Teledyne Imaging group and serves as a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and deploying digital imaging components for machine vision systems. Their products are used in thousands of automated inspection systems across industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, solar cell production, flat-panel display fabrication, electronics assembly, automotive testing, medical imaging, packaging, and general manufacturing.
