e2v Introduces New 2-Megapixel Sapphire CMOS Image Sensors with Improved Performance
June 7, 2016
The e2v Sapphire family of CMOS image sensors has been expanded with a new 2-megapixel variant. This sensor features a microlens design that accommodates a Chief Ray Angle (CRA) as low as zero degrees, significantly improving performance and ensuring excellent uniformity across the entire array area. It is ideal for applications such as microscopy.
This new sensor uses the same electronic and optical interfaces as the standard Sapphire 2-megapixel EV76C570, making it a seamless drop-in replacement. This capability allows existing camera systems to be adapted for new applications or to enhance performance in current ones (e.g., machine vision), thanks to improved image uniformity and reduced shading artifacts.
The sensor is available in both color (EV76C571ACT) and black-and-white versions (EV76C571ABT).
